The Madwoman of ChaillotMarch 2007By Jean Giraudoux Directed by Mary T. BoyerMary T. Boyer strikes the set and ignites the satire in Theatre Unplugged's inaugural production, French dramatist Jean Giraudoux's The Madwoman of Chaillot. This play is a delicious satire about greed, power, big business, and the ability of the little people (mad though they may be) to win the day. "Although Jean Giraudoux wrote The Madwoman of Chaillot in
Paris during the Nazi Occupation, the play is as timeless, universal,
and relevant as ever as it addresses such topics as war, the triumph of
profit over social consciousness, the oil industry and the destruction
of the environment," remarks Boyer, Artistic Director of Theatre
Unplugged.
