The Art of Storytelling

At MTB Studio, actors learn the tools they need to maintain a professional career in today's demanding market. Acting is a craft, a career, and a lifestyle that takes incredible focus, discipline, determination, and intelligence.

An actor's job is to tell the story. The noble tradition of storytelling goes back to the beginning of time. Modern day storytelling for the actor involves the body, the voice, the emotional life, and the imagination.

MTB Studio does not rely on one philosophy or technique but instead draws on techniques found in the work of: Stanislavsky, Strasberg, Meisner, Morris, Hagen, Adler, and Chekhov. Relaxation techniques for the voice and body are utilized with principles founded in Alexander, Feldenkrais®, Yoga, and other disciplines. Each actor learns a unique set of tools that assists him or her in problem solving throughout their career.

But let's not forget that it is a business, too. And as such involves marketing savvy, salesmanship, and networking skills. MTB Studio is on the cutting edge of training today's actor. To meet the demands of the business, actors must be comfortable pursuing their craft in all arenas of the entertainment industry: film, television, stage, industrials, and more.

Prospective students for MTB Studio should be actors who desire to be held accountable to their highest potential and are: ready for hard work; passionate about storytelling; dedicated to the integrity of acting; committed to the development of their career.

MTB Studio students have appeared in “Blindspot”, “Orange Is The New Black”, “The Walking Dead”, “The Blacklist”, "The Good Wife", "Grimm", "Suburgatory", “Unforgettable", "Chicago Fire", "Golden Boy", "Person Of Interest", “2012”, “30 Rock”, “Law & Order”, “Law & Order SVU”, “Law & Order CI”, “CSI Miami”, “NCIS”, “Rescue Me”, “Fringe”, “The Wire”, “Les Miserables”, “The Phantom of the Opera”, “The Drowsy Chaperone”, numerous commercials, Off-Off Broadway, and in regional theatres throughout the country.
